No-bake recipe for Peanut Butter & Rice Krispies Treats – great to make with the kids
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
115g(3 cups) Rice Krispies
3 pieces (2 cups) Honey Smacks (or replace with a different honey/oat based cereal)
¼ teaspoon salt
Brown the butter in a heavy-bottomed sauce pan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to keep the milk solids from burning. Once browned, reduce the heat to low.
Add vanilla and the marshmallows. Stir until melted. Add the peanut butter and stir until almost blended in, but still streaky. Remove from the heat.
Add the Rice Krispies, Honey Smacks, honey, and salt. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and blended.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 8-by-8-inch pan. Let sit at room temperature until set, at least an hour.
