Simple recipe perfect for a quick dinner – Barbeque Meatloaf – with a step-by-step video.
750-900grm ground beef (very cold)
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp celery salt
pinch of cayenne
1/4 tsp chipotle (dried jalapeno peppers)
1 tsp garlic powder (not salt)
1 tsp onion powder (not salt)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
Put mince in a large bowl.
Add onion, garlic, celery, cayenne powders, as well as salt and chipotles.
Then add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, beaten egg, dijon mustard and breadcrumbs.
Mix together with your fingers.
Pour a fair amount of barbeque sauce into the bottom of a standard loaf tin, and then press mince on top.
Bake in the oven at 160 C for 1 hr and 15 minutes.
When it is done, drain off fat and turn out onto a plate.
