A rich and decadent breakfast treat with hints of cinnamon, orange and a good dose of hazelnut and chocolate spread

2 eggs
½ cup milk
2 Tbs cream, optional (don’t buy cream for this, just add some if you happen to have it!)
¼ tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
3 tsp castor sugar
zest of an orange, finely grated
4 slices brioche or kitke bread
Nutella chocolate spread
large knob of butter, for frying

How to
Whisk together the eggs, milk, cream (if using), cinnamon, salt, sugar and zest. Spread two slices of bread liberally with Nutella and top with the remaining slices. Pour egg mix into a wide, shallow dish and dip Nutella sandwiches into the egg. Allow them to soak up the egg mix for a minute, then gently flip over to soak the other side as well – most of the egg mixture will be absorbed. Place a generous knob of butter (as in 2 Tbs) into a non-stick frying pan and fry sandwiches over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Serve immediately. If you’re feeling extra fancy dust your French toast with a bit of icing sugar.
