A delicious recipe for dairy-free Banana, Dark Chocolate and Walnut Ice Cream – an easy and healthier alternative to the high fat store varieties of ice cream.

3 Bananas Peeled
1 Tablespoon Grand Marnier
1/2 Cup Roughly Chopped Walnuts
1/2 Cup Roughly Chopped Dark Chocolate (no more than 60% cacoa) – for dairy free, make sure you get one without dairy.

How to
Cut bananas into small pieces.

Lay out banana pieces on a plate or cookie sheet and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

Blend in a blender or food processor. You can blend the bananas until they turn creamy or I used a food processor and blended them until they were really small pieces (about the size of rice grains)

Remove the blade and add the Grand Marnier, walnut pieces and chocolate pieces.

Stir to combine. While stirring, you will notice that the texture changes from grainy to smooth and creamy.

The ice cream is ready to serve or it can be spooned into a container and re-frozen.
