Audrey Doering of Wisconsin and Gracie Rainsberry of Washington were adopted shortly after birth, and never knew about each other until recently

The identical twin girls, who are now ten, were reunited in an emotional first meeting on Good Morning America on Wednesday, which, unsurprisingly had the entire studio in tears.

“It felt like there was something missing, so now it’s complete,” Audrey told the show hosts.

Audrey’s mother discovered that her daughter had a twin sister, while she was researching her past. She discovered a photo of the twin girls sitting on the lap of their foster mother. She then used social media to track down Gracie’s parents.

The girls had only spoken to each other via video messaging, so Wednesday was the first time they had embraced since their separation. They described the moment as “overwhelming”.

They share a number of similarities including a genetic heart condition for which both girls have undergone operations. They also have a taste for chicken Alfredo and macaroni and cheese.
