TIP: Think WHILE You Eat

Eating is a wondrous thing. You make the effort to prepare a beautiful meal. You sit down thinking about how beautiful the experience of eating this food will be. And then, five minutes later, IT’S ALL GONE! What happened? Did you even really taste it?

This sort of thing happens all the time, and it’s not good for your quality of life OR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS.

We have fallen into the trap of eating too fast – to the point where even eating in a restaurant has become all about how quickly the kitchen can get the meal to our table, and how fast we can be out the door.

So what’s the problem?

The problem is that eating too fast WILL lead to you eating more than you need to.

The problem is that eating too fast WILL lead to you eating more than you need to.

When we eat too quickly, it takes a while for the brain to receive the signal from the stomach to register that it’s full. In the meantime, we cram in a whole bunch of extra mouthfuls. These are the extra calories that not only end up making you feel ‘over full’, bloated and sick to your stomach, but they are also the extra calories that pack on the pounds.

How can you learn to eat more slowly?

One great trick to correct this habit of eating too quickly is to take a snack of five raisins and make it last for twenty minutes. Once you’ve mastered this, making a full meal last for the same length of time should be a breeze.

Think while you eat. Think about SLOWING DOWN and appreciating your food. Eating more slowly will allow your stomach to send signals to your brain that you are full – BEFORE  you’ve eaten too much.

You’ll lose weight, AND enjoy your food more too.
