1. Prep your lips before you apply matte lipstick – there’s nothing worse than having colour cling to bits of dry skin. The easiest way to do this is with a soft toothbush or a dry facecloth.
  2. You have to work fast when you work with matte lipstick, especially if it’s a dark colour – once it dries it tends to stain the surrounding skin. If you need to clean anything up, do so quickly with make-up remover on a cotton bud.
  3. To remove, first use oil-based make-up remover on a cotton swab, then follow with cleanser and a facecloth for a gentle exfoliating action. Be sure to apply lip balm when you’re finished.
