Myth: Losing weight is complicated

There are many people out there who would want you to believe that losing weight is complicated, and that you need to know a huge amount of scientific and biological information in order to eat healthily. These people sell books and diet programmes containing this information, and a giant industry has been built on these ideas.

The reality is that – because the typical Western diet is so poor – the average person only needs to know three simple things in order to begin to make drastic changes to their wellness and weight.

Here they are:

  1. Fruit and vegetables should make up at least 75% of your diet.
  2. You should avoid processed foods, deep fried foods and junk foods.
  3. You should limit the amount of refined carbohydrates and sugar that you consume as far as possible.

Do those three things and you will begin to lose weight without the need to study a degree in science first.

Simple.
