Letoya Makhene recently hinted in an excited tweet that she has joined the cast of Generations, but axed soapie star Nambitha Mpumlwana was quick to pour cold water on her enthusiasm when she interjected with a tweet of her own

â??Today marks the start of something huge!!! #SoExcited #SoBlessed #SoGrateful,â? Letoya tweeted on Monday.

Nambitha responded by writing: â??I hope they treat you better than they did us!â?

A curious fan then posed a question to Nambitha and asked: â??@NAMBITHA is @TheRealLetoya joining Generations like @Connie_Ferguson ????â?

Nambitha kept mum but replied with, â??Indeedâ? when another follower wrote, â??I hope they treat â??em betterâ?

Joining the conversation, an upset fan piped up and tweeted: â??@NAMBITHA @TheRealLetoya I will not watch that, I want that ‘Ngamla na mawande’ cast not this…Gen will never be the same againâ?

A slightly more accommodating soapie fan tweeted: â??Will move on but the fact is that the 16 are irreplaceable.â?

However, Letoya received some encouragement from a fan who supports her move and who said Nambitha threw away a great opportunity

Tweeted the fan: â??@TheRealLetoya dnt be scared @nambitha let a great opotunity to pass bye..lol *pass bye*.â?

Actress and singer Letoya took Nambithaâ??s somewhat passive aggressive comment in her stride, though, by asking: â??Hello, my friend…how are you?â?

â??Hey! I am fine sisi. God has been good to me,â? Nambitha responded.

Letoya Makhene is best known for her role as Ayanda Diale in the SABC 3 soap opera Isidingo. She also co-hosted the second season of the M-Net reality show Idols SA in 2003.

The actress disappeared from showbiz to pursue an eight-month training course to become a sangoma, after which she began singing at corporate gigs and landed a gig in Isidingo.

Letoya is the daughter of musician Blondie Makhene.
