Zwai Bala found himself in the midst of a social media storm on Wednesday

This came after Zwai voiced his opinion of EFF leader Julius Malema addressing the speaker in the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete, by her first name.

“Most South Africans have an stance on the local politics and have every right to express their views. But as Africans, respect is standard & inexcusable.

“And for Julius to disrespectfully call Ms Mbete by her first name can never be correct by African standards, irresponsible of a leader (sic)” Zwai tweeted.

This did not sit well with Twitter users who dug into Zwai for “siding with the ANC” and “trying to be relevant.

Despite the negative comments, Zwai says, he feels hopeful that young South Africans are so passionate and hopeful about what’s unfolding in the country
