4. They make you avoid things

Processed foods are not allowed on any good diet in any significant quantity – and for good reason.

The processing of foods generally takes out most of the nutritional value, and added to this many chemicals and other weird things are added to make the ‘food’ more palatable.

Avoiding processed foods is probably the best first step for the majority of people who want to lose weight.
