According to Sunday World, Vusi is facing jail time after he was arrested on fraud charges

According to police documents, he and his co-accused, a Dr Joseph “Joe” Safra, allegedly swindled their business associate, the late Leon Kruger, of R836 400 between 2011 and 2014.

Kruger’s widow, Catharina, pursued the case against the two after her husband died in June last year.

Speaking to Sunday World, the Thandiwe singer said he was aware of the case against him.

“I’ve forwarded the matter to my lawyers, who will respond on my behalf before the end of business today [Friday],” he said.

Catharina Kruger said: “The matter is still in front of the court, I can’t comment until the outcome of the case.”

And police spokeswoman, Doniah Mothutsane, confirmed that a case of fraud had been opened, saying “Two suspects were arrested and were charged with fraud. At the moment they are out on bail.”

Vusi and his co-accused are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Commercial Crimes Court next month.
