Top international make-up brand BECCA has opened its first store on African soil at the Morningside shopping centre.
BECCA’s products are loved and used in more than four continents by hundreds of famous models, artists and film stars.
Created for all skin types
One of its unique selling points is the fact that the brand is created for women with all kinds of skin types.
Businesswoman Stella Buthelezi acquired the rights to bring BECCA to the continent and expose South African women to a brand that already enjoys popularity in more than four continents.
“What sets BECCA apart is the quality of the product and the varying ranges that accommodate different skin types,” says Buthelezi. She adds that as much as the BECCA is a top international brand it comes at affordable prices.
Used by supermodels and actresses
The brand has established itself as a serious player in the make-up business and boasts hundreds of international celebrities in music, acting and modelling such as Alek Wek, Naomi Campbell, Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon as staunch users.
Rebecca Morrice Williams, an Australian entrepreneur established BECCA Cosmetics in 2001 in London with the aim to create a foundation that would achieve flawless looking skin for all types and shades. In 2003 a second store was opened in New York, where the brand was lauded as its category leader.
Rebecca started her career as a makeup artist in Perth, Western Australia. Frustrated by her own inability to find the perfect foundation, one that would look natural, conceal blemishes, feel weightless on the skin and stay fresh all day, she set out to create it herself.
// BECCA to challenge established products
The introduction of BECCA to South Africa will see women being spoiled for choice as the brand will challenge already established products.
“We are excited about BECCA. My aim is to establish it as the preferred make up brand in this country. My long term aspiration is to open other BECCA retail outlets throughout the country and across the African continent,” says Buthelezi.
