In the footage below, Oscar Pistorius can be seen kicking a soccer ball around with Radovan Krejcir in the prison’s recreation yard.
It was earlier reported that Pistorius has also been allowed to make use of Krejcir’s gym equipment at the prison. Krejcir is awaiting trial and so enjoys more benefits than convicted inmates. In November last year, Krejcir sent a letter of complaint to prison officials to say that his gym equipment kept being moved and he was unable to train.
“My equipment was offered to Mr Oscar Pistorius, to train on, on his arrival at this facility… without my knowledge,” Krejcir wrote in the letter.
“I did not object to Mr Pistorius utilising my equipment after he arrived at this facility and in fact Mr Pistorius and I started training together.”
However, the equipment was moved to the visiting area and then again to a single cell on the ground floor of the prison.
There was no space in Krejcir’s single cell for the equipment
“I have been deprived of my training since the 9th of November 2014 as a result of this unfounded and unexplainable change, which I submit has been directed directly at me, in just another form of mental and emotional torture,” Krejcir said.
Pistorius is afraid of being poisoned
Pistorius is currently living in a single cell in the Kgosi Mampuru II prison’s hospital wing and has little contact with other prisoners. He has lost a lot of weight, and is struggling with blisters from his prosthetic legs as they no longer fit him adequately. He is surviving on tinned food bought from the prison tuckshop as he is afraid of being poisoned.
