Charismatic Jakkie Louw brings ‘olâ?? blue eyesâ?? back to life in spectacular Sinatra tribute show
Charismatic South African entertainer, Jakkie Louw, takes music fans on a nostalgic journey of evergreen songs by the iconic Frank Sinatra in his captivating new show, Jakkie Louw Sing Sinatra, at Golden Valley on 29 November.
The production showcases Sinatraâ??s illustrious musical career, taking fans back to old New York Broadway and old Hollywood with songs like Are you lonesome tonight?, Born free, Close to you, Come fly with me, Everybody loves somebody, Fly me to the moon, Fools rush in, and many more.
Louw spent over six months researching the legendary Sinatra and the stories behind his songs to bring it all together for this unbelievable production which features multimedia enhancements and a full band.

Louwâ??s Sinatra tribute show evolved from what started as a little project for his only living grandmother, Ouma Frieda. She turns 90 in January next year and he wanted to sing two Sinatra songs for her on her birthday. Before he knew it, he had spent hours researching Sinatraâ??s life and collating material to tell his story.
The first performance of Jakkie Louw Sing Sinatra in Cape Town sold out within days, with fans flocking to see Louw bring Sinatra to life on stage. With the help of modern technology, Louw uses original video material that shows Sinatra as a young man, aged just 34, and tells the story of the song New York New York.
â??If you close your eyes as I sing Strangers in the night and Beyond the sea, you will feel as though you are somewhere else, in a huge theatre, listening to the man himself,â? describes Louw.
He takes to the stage at Winners Action Bar at 21h00. Tickets are available at the cash desk at R100 per person. Doors will open at 20h00. No under 18s are permitted.
