Air-drying is the best natural way to dry your hair.

This technique prevents hair from being damaged by hair tools which makes it look and stay healthy.

Here are a few tips on how to air-dry hair according to your hair type.

Coily hair

Coily hair tends to take longer than other types of hair to air-dry, but avoid taking your hair down before it’s dry as this will cause an uneven curl pattern and frizz. Rich hair oils such as olive oil, castor oil and avocado oil are great for this type of hair and will add moisture and shine.

Co-wash your hair and then apply a leave-in conditioner, hair oil and styling cream thoroughly to help define your curls.

Straight/fine hair

If you have straight or fine hair, avoid constantly touching your hair while it is air-drying as this will cause it to frizz. Applying enough products will help you hair get the volume it needs when dry and guarantee movement. Make sure you apply the product thoroughly and evenly.

Wash hair with volumising shampoo and conditioner and then add bodybuilding mousse for more volume after towel drying it.

Thick/curly hair

When it comes to thick or curly hair, try not to use products that are thick as they will just flatten your curls.

After washing your hair with a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner, apply a leave-in conditioner as well as curl enhancer. Leave your curls to air-dry and then fluff the roots using a wide tooth comb for extra volume.
