Mother of two Rachel Kolisi has recently opened up about struggling with hair loss.
Rachel took to Instagram to share with her fans that she has been experiencing extreme hair for the past few weeks.
She is known for her honest and relatable posts which fans always react positively to and thank her for.
Her latest post is no different as fans also shared their own struggles with hair loss.
Rachel revealed that her hair loss was caused by stress and has heard from many people how their hair has been falling out after contracting Covid-19.
“Let’s talk hair loss! For the past couple of weeks whenever I wash, or brush my hair I’m literally removing HANDFULS of hair, I’ve always been blessed with really thick hair and recently tied my hair in a ponytail and the thickness was of my hair is maybe a third of what it was a year ago. Stress has definitely played a huge role! But when I mentioned this a bunch of people said their hair has been falling out since having Covid? Have you experienced this?” Rachel said in the caption of the video.
She also went on to tell fans about a procedure she did to help treat the problem.
“I went for a 3D Bespoke facial at @drnerinawilkinson yesterday and explained the hair story and Penny, told me about scalp needling (I had no idea this was a thing) so we tried it out! This is the process: needling of the scalp and then applied Mesoestetic Hair Loss Solution. It stimulates growth factors that stimulate hair growth and thickening of the hair. By applying the hair loss solution we are targeting the condition of hair loss. It turns out I almost have a bald patch at the back of my head,” she said.

Fans flooded the comment section with their own hair struggles that they say were caused by Covid-19 and giving birth.
“My gosh!! I thought I was the only one! Me too! Hair fall has been real,” one fan said with another commenting: “Girl same… I was doing great for 4 months post partum and then it started.”
“Thank you for posting this. My hair has been falling out in chunks since Covid and I haven’t heard anyone else talk about it, so this felt validating,” a fan wrote.
According to healthline.com, doctors believe that the emotional and physical stress that accompanies a case of Covid-19 can lead to a reversible hair loss condition called telogen effluvium.
