It’s a collaboration never before seen in Southern Africa, official London Fashion Week stylists Toni and Guy bring label.m to Sandton, South Africa and they have partnered with Sally Mustang Tattoos to give you a one-stop-shop for both your frock and your tattoo needs…
Headed by Gert van Schalkwyk Jr – whom many may know as Jaques Mynhart from Egoli- its set to be an industry game-changer enticing clients to an entrancing experience.
The venture came to be when the demand for label.m, the official hair product of London Fashion Week, was rising and its presence in Gauteng needed to be extended, and the idea of a concept store was born – of course, it had to be on par with the international standards of the brand and Sally Mustang was the perfect fit.
“With Sally Mustang Tattoo adding Aesthetics & Beauty a natural extension was Sally Mustang Hair.
Label.m caters for the informed and fashion conscious clients across all hair types,” said Van Schalkwyk.
Training opportunity for beauty artists
But the venture is two-fold, as the group will also be establishing a training centre that will be operated alongside the salon, creating opportunities for young South Africans to break into the beauty industry with top-level training. According to Van Schalkwyk, its aimed at all walks of life and one of its biggest goals is to inspire a passion for life through hands-on training.
“Myself and Paul Stergiopoulos of Sally Mustang will be hands-on with the training centre driven by die-hard professionalism of the label.m,” says Van Schalk Wyk.
Van Schalkwyk says the scope for jobs in the industry is vast and had it not been the case, the collaboration would have never come to be.
“I am the living example of this. Believe me label.m and Sally Mustang would have not invested so much in me and the industry if there was not a gap in various job opportunities and job creation in the industry,” says Van Schalk Wyk, “PROFESSIONAL and ACCREDITED label.m is the key to give the individual the CUT above the rest. Pun intended,” he added.
On Saturday 27 March, the ‘launch’ of the salon was at the Hotel Sky in Sandton, Johannesburg.
When asked how the salon will compare, Van Schalk Wyk said “Sally Mustang hair/ label.m is in a league of its own.”
