It’s all about the images

Lighting: Ensure colours remain true to life by taking photos of clean, ironed items in natural light, adjusting brightness and tone before uploading.

Background: Use an uncluttered, neat wall or door as a background, so your items pop on the photo.

Display items optimally: Lay out the items beautifully or have someone wear them to give shoppers a better idea of the fit.  

Show the full size: Detailed shots are useful, but at least one photo should be in full length.

Listing description is crucial

Details and keywords: Add the name of the item (e.g. skirt/trousers), size, condition (e.g. brand new/hardly used), brand name, colour and other characteristics (e.g. oversized fit/ extra soft material). 

Accurate information: Provide true, accurate information about the condition of the item, any defects it might have and if branded items are authentic.

Right category: Choose a category that best fits the item.

Right price point: Set the price lower than the original purchase price to create a value for the buyer.

Market your listing

Let your friends know: Create a Story or a post on social media and let your friends know.

Share your listings: Share your listings on Facebook to buy and sell groups that best fit your items.  

Post an Instagram (IG) story: Make a video and design a Story. If you tag @yaga_za, we might share it with our favourites on Yaga’s official IG account. 

Add your shop link to your Instagram/Facebook profile: You can add one clickable link to your IG profile under “Website” and in Facebook in your “About” section.
