It was a moment in time that had South Africans beaming with pride – Trevor Noah interviewing Nomzamo Mbatha on The Daily Show…
Both the comedian-turned talk show host and the actress hail from Mzansi.
“This is an amazing day for me…I get to celebrate you as a fellow South African”, were Trevor’s inspiring opening words.
“I also get to celebrate your success in the most successful movie of the year,” added Trevor, referring to Nomzamo’s highly coveted Coming To America role.
Starring alongside Eddie Murphie, James Earl Jones and Wesley Snipes to name a few, Nomzamo has been hailed as the ‘break out star’ of the box office hit production.
“It’s been an out of body experience, but I think you would be able to let me know how to go about this Hollywood thing,” Nomzamo told the host, who boasts friends like John Legend & Chrissy Teigen, Rihanna and Usher.
During the interview, Nomzamo chatted to Trevor about working alongside the star-studded cast, eating American food and being “threatened” by a movie fan.
