Cardi B may be famed for being a rapper and former reality TV star. Now she is adding ‘doll designer’ to her resume too…
The Grammy-winning artist announced on Friday that she would be releasing a doll, inspired by herself later this year.
According to the star, the doll which is manufactured under the toy brand Real Women Are, was designed so that her three-year-old daughter Kulture had a toy which ‘looks like them’.
She said in a video announcement; “As everyone knows, I’m a mom. And today, more than ever, it’s important to me to give my daughter inspiration and bad**s women to look up to….[it] is a chance for me to provide my daughter and other little girls something that looks like them to play with to inspire them.

But whilst many are ‘adding to cart’, others are up in arms over the limited-edition piece
A number of tweeps have hailed the doll ‘inappropriate for children’. They’ve also found fault with the doll’s appearance and selection of clothing.
I’m sorry but I wouldn’t want my child to play with Cardi b doll . That doll is not kid appropriate

I’m sorry but those cardi b dolls ain’t it in my opinion. I know dolls usually have unrealistic bodies but like to further push this body shape that is almost 95% only surgically possible is sad. Especially since it’s such a huge thing in society rn.

Cardi B argued that she don’t make music for kids following the WAP backlash then releases a doll? I’ll never buy that for my niece or future daughter.

is no one gonna bring up that cardi b’s content is way inappropriate for children? children have no business interacting with her brand and don’t need a doll version of her. why is no one angry about this? https://t.co/JhtfLWjhvD

Cardi B’s doll follows hot on the heels of another doll designed by a celebrity – Serena Williams
The tennis star created the Qai Qai doll, inspired by her daughter Alexis’s own doll of the same name.
“There’s something really special about the relationship between a child and their favorite toy. Qai Qai has been around for more than half of Olympia’s life and she still takes her everywhere we go,” Serena said in an announcement
“Qai Qai is no ordinary doll, and it is amazing to see her use social media to educate, inspire and bring a smile to audiences from all backgrounds.”
If you haven’t heard of the Real Qai Qai yet, then you’re seriously missing out. The Instagram famous doll belongs to Olympia Ohanian, the 3-year-old daughter of Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian. Now fans can buy their very own Qai Qai! https://t.co/IKuXJpu6oT
