Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has done many a celebrity interview in her lifetime, but this Sunday’s  sit-down with couple Meghan & Harry is surely one  to top all others…

Nothing is set to be off limits during the two hour special, during which the former royals will address all the rumours currently circulating about them as well as sharing exactly what led them to leave the Royal Family last year.

Apart from this exclusive, Oprah has a number of candid yet controversial celebrity chats in the bag.

Here are 8 of her most memorable – and explosive – celebrity interviews…

Lance Armstrong (2013)

If there was ever a bombshell interview (prior to the royal one of course), it had to be the exclusive, ‘no-holds barred’ sit-down with the cycling champion who admitted to taking performance-inducing drugs during all seven of his Tour de France championships.

Lance was later stripped of all his wins and banned from competing for life.

Tom Cruise (2005)

If cringe was a person – or at least an O interview – it would have to be Tom infamously jumping off her couch in sheer excitement (or a moment of madness).

The actor was describing his romance with now ex-wife Katie Holmes.

It’s a meme-worthy moment we’ll surely remember forever!

Rihanna (2012)

It was the moment the singing sensation broke her silence for the first time ever on being brutally assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown back in 2009.

Viewers were on the edges of their seats as they heard how Riri recounted exactly what happened that fateful night, and what ensued thereafter.

Ellen Degeneres (1997)

Hot on the heels of her TV sitcom revelation (which also guest starred Oprah), the star confirmed on the Oprah show that it was not just her character, but herself as well that was coming out of the closet.

Ellen spoke out about the backlash she had received following her big announcement.

Whitney Houston (2009)

Another tell-all that had our tongues on the floor, starred the late great Whitney, who spoke candidly about her drug use, domestic abuse and going to rehab.

Oprah would later interview Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and her ‘stepson’ Nick Gordon, who all tragically died of drug doses in the years that followed.

Michael Jackson (1993)

Hailed as the ‘most watched interview in television history’, this sit-down sought to unearth details about the late entertainer’s publicised childhood, changing skin colour and his alleged plastic surgery.

Interestingly Oprah interviewed the cast of the explosive documentary Leaving Neverland – Wade Robson and James Safechuck during an HBO exclusive, who alleged that Michael Jackson had groomed and molested them as children at his Neverland ranch.

Fergie (1996)

Meghan & Harry were not the only royals to brave the hot seat – Sarah Ferguson aka Fergie sat down with the talk show host to discuss her life as a royal and failed marriage to Prince Andrew.

Needless to say the Royal Family – and the queen herself – were shook at her revelations!

Tyler Perry (2010)

It was one of the most gut-wrenching interviews we’ve ever watched – the movie mogul described in detail his childhood as “a living hell” and how he had been repeatedly molested by several male relatives and family friends.

Tyler appeared on the show a few weeks later where he lent his voice to a special about childhood abuse, during which we witnessed 200 male viewers open up about their own experiences as victims of sexual assault and the stigma attached to it.
