Footage of a Bolivian university balcony collapse went viral this past week when students fell four stories…
Seven university students were killed in the balcony collapse while four were injured.
The video of Tuesday’s shocking fall showed a mass of students from the Public University of El Alto packed onto the balcony before the railing gave way.
According to the New York Post the incident took place in the financial sciences building, as students were trying to enter a lecture hall for an assembly.
The footage also showed one student allegedly “fighting” with another student moments before the railing broke.
An investigation into the matter is underway by police.
Local news outlets reported that Bolivian Police general commander Jhonny Aguilera Montecinos said the woman seen in the struggle will be questioned as part of the investigation.
Bolivian President Luis Arce offered his condolences to the family in a post on Twitter.

Which translates to, “We regret the tragedy that occurred at the Public University of #ElAlto (UPEA), where there were several deaths and injuries. Our deepest condolences to the people of El Alto and to the suffering families. We await the prompt clarification of the facts.”
Eleven students fell over 16,7 m to the ground when the balcony collapsed. Medics cited “multiple trauma” as cause of death for the seven who were killed. The others are being treated at medical facilities.
