Yaga is a local marketplace for pre-loved fashion. Anyone can download the app and open an account / purchase online.
Yaga is relatively safe as the buyer will purchase an item, Yaga keeps that money in a secure ‘holding account,’ and sends the seller a message to let them know that they have an order. The seller then sends out the delivery and once the buyer receives their goods, they accept receipt of goods on the app and the seller gets paid.
You can select to shop from categories such as women/bloggers and influencers/health and beauty/made in SA/home etc. They also have daily ‘editor pics’.
There are a variety of delivery options available, however Aramex door to door (R99) seems to be the most popular and convenient amongst buyers and sellers.
We’ve started adding to our wardrobe with our favourite bloggers pre-loved items….
And this is how it went:
I love fashion blogger, style icon and influencer Ricci-lee Kalish, so when I saw her Yaga shop, I RUSHED over there. I opted to purchase an H&M sea-foam, velvet cami that had never been worn for R270.
The item had been in the online store for 17 days before I purchased it. Delivery was R99 with Aramex, making my purchase cost R369 in total. I would totally recommend purchasing a few items at the same time to make the delivery fee a little more affordable. You also have the option to message the seller/buyer on the app.
I made a purchase, and three days later I received a notification to say that my item had been shipped. I received my package the next day, clicked ‘item received’ so that Ricci-lee could get paid.
This process was quick, reliable and hassle free. Some influencer have personalised packing /notes which make the purchase that much more exciting.
This is what I ordered, and how it looked like on me:
I love my top! It’s super soft and comfortable and looks just like the pic (in different lighting).
I didn’t tuck the shirt in as I have a different body shape and this shirt tucked in accentuates my bust, I love the way it feels on my skin though.
