A pregnant Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their first appearance after two major announcements – but from their couch in Santa Barbara, California…
On Valentine’s Day the couple let the world in on a little secret – they are expecting their second child!
Just a few days later Buckingham Palace confirmed that the pair would not return as working members of the royal family. This means that they have now been stripped of their royal patronages.
Meghan and Harry’s surprise appearance at Spotify’s Stream On event on Monday was the first time the pair have been seen since.
The couple said they aimed to “elevate voices” of those who are not being heard through the podcast. Archewell Audio, their recently established production company, is set to create podcasts exclusively on Spotify after they penned a deal late last year. Streaming giant Netflix has also signed a production deal worth millions with Meghan and Harry.
The #SpotifyStreamOn event featured A-listers including Justin Bieber, Brené Brown, J Balvin, Ava Duverney and Blackpink alongside the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In the clip, the Duchess mentioned they wanted to use their Archewell Audio podcast to “drive powerful conversation” which would, “inspire, challenge and educate,” added Prince Harry.
Meghan described how she wanted the podcast to give a voice to the voiceless, “We created Archewell Audio to make sure we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard.”
Harry emphasized that the space was a safe one and how he placed importance on building a community people could relate to and feel encouraged by, “The biggest part of this is creating a community where you can share and encourage everybody else to share their vulnerabilities in a safe place.”
