Bonang Matheba’s manager revealed to All4Women that the presenter and entrepreneur still has every intention of moving abroad.

Bonang Matheba’s plans might have been halted, but they are definitely still on track. That’s according to her management who confirmed that the TV and radio superstar still has every intention of setting up base overseas, where she will be launching a number of her upcoming projects. More specifically, Bonang will be finding a home for herself in New York City but it looks as if she won’t be leaving Mzansi for good.

Bonang’s team confirms her global plans

Last week we spoke to Bonang’s manager Davin Phillips, who was quick to put an end to rumours that Bonang’s much-touted move abroad had been called off. During a short WhatsApp chat, Davin affirmed that the move was very much on the cards. That was enough to clear the rumours, but Davin took it even further when he called us back to explain in greater detail how the move could play out. Here are a few key takeouts from our conversation:

Is Bonang still moving to the States?

“Firstly, yes, Bonang is still planning on setting up in the USA. The reality is that she’s a citizen of the world, she’s got a lot of projects everywhere and she will go wherever her projects take her.”

Why was Bonang’s move postponed?

“We’ve spoken before about the fact that she was ready to get her own place that side. She was in Manhattan, house hunting until Covid-19 shut everything down. Even right now it’s not easy to travel because of the SA variant causing complications. So she’s waiting patiently until things die down.”

Where will she be based?

“She’s looking at homes in New York where she’s got a lot of projects in the pipeline, including the podcast that she’s planning on launching with Charlamagne [Tha God]”

Will this be goodbye forever?

“No, this won’t be a permanent Goodbye. Bonang is planning on having homes in both sides. She LOVES her home, she loves this country and she’s got a lot of business projects which require her input in Mzansi so she won’t be leaving permanently. She will spend her time on both sides of the ocean. “

What are her upcoming plans?

“Keep your eyes on Bonang’s pages because now that the year is truly underway, she’s going to have some big announcements in store.”
