This renowned actress, singer, dancer and producer is also known for her role in classic films such as Jump the Gun and Pure Blood.

Made history

Nomsa made history when she became the first lead black actress at the Market Theatre after joining a production company when she matriculated. This opened the door for all black actors in theatre.

She knew from the age of six years that she was going to become an actress. Her big break came at this age during an audition for a television commercial.

Multi award-winning actress and real estate agent

Her incredible acting skills lead her to be recognised worldwide and she has received multiple awards for her talent.

Nomsa has been quite busy – even after retiring. She retired from acting in 2001 and joined the real estate business. It was in 2011 that she became the owner of Nomsa Nene Properties. Nomsa is a multi-award winning real estate agent and has been in business for years.

The 63-year-old decided to return to acting in 2017, 16 years after leaving our screens.

Her recent work

Nomsa’s first acting role was in the e.tv telenovela, Broken Vows and has also featured in the movie Poppie Nongena. She has received a lot of praise for her role in Mzansi Magic’s The Herd.
