4 New skincare products to give your skin a summer boost
The beach ban has been lifted, and we can now go out and enjoy the South African summer weather – keeping in mind all Covid regulations of course!
But being out and about means potentially more damage to your skin – especially if you’re exposed to harsh sunshine.
So before you dash out of the house, make time for a much needed at home pamper session.
From vitamin c foaming exfoliators that smell like a citrus orchard, to coconut-scented toner and hydra-filler moisturiser to plump up the wrinkles.
One thing’s for certain we are bound to have a spring in our step after using these skin care treasures.
1. SVR Vitamin C Antioxidant Foam Mask
This foam mask is the only antioxidant foam mask you’ll need in your beauty arsenal as it illuminates the skin, retexturises and plumps, exfoliates, and smoothes out the skin.
This is one of SVR’s most recent skincare launches and we must say, we love the unique idea and the packaging of a foam mask, in an aerosol can. This mask contains 25% optimised vitamin c, which protects against aging, as well as gluconolactone for a gentle retexturising, smoothing, and refining effect.
Vitamin B3 and a moisturising complex with high molecular weight hyaluronic acid are also included in this mask. All these ingredients mixed together leave your skin feeling new again. This mask will leave you with the ultimate skin glow up as it exfoliates dead skin cells, plumps up fine lines, smoothes out skin tone and imperfections and leaves your skin with a noticeable glow.
We love that is smells fresh and citrusy, like you’re taking a walk in an orange orchard and it rinses of beautifully as a clear liquid, for the ultimate skin treat.
2. SVR Sebiaclear Active Teinte
SVR Sebiaclear Active Teinte reduces blemishes and offers an instantly unified complexion. This product contains a concentrated formula that works on eliminating spots, blackheads and enlarged pores in a short space of time, as well as concealing blemishes immediately with its micronized mineral pigments.
The product formula includes Niacinamide, to soothe irritated skin and stop bacterial build up and Salicylic Acid, to refine the skin texture, unclogging blocked pores and preventing new blemishes.
Its lightweight, non-greasy and non-sticky texture moisturises the skin for 8 hours and offers balanced coverage for ultra-natural blemish correction.
3. Azana Spa Mircellar water
If you’ve been searching for a triple threat mircellar water then the Azana Spa mircellar water is for you. Micelles are tiny balls of cleaning oil molecules that are suspended in soft water, to attract dirt, oil and impurities without drying, aging or stripping the akin.
There’s no mystery as to why every beauty guru has at least 2 mircellar waters in her beauty kit. It’s so easy to use, just a few drops on a cotton pad will remove makeup, cleanse and tone the skin and it doesn’t require water to rinse off.
This vegetable glycerin will leave your skin feeling soft, moisturised and radiant. This three-in-one mircellar water is also vegan, cruelty free, sulphate free, and it’s 94% natural. Why get one when you can try all three delicious variants.
- Rosehip Micellar Water: enriched with rosehip extract, made to cleanse, soften & leave a radiant glow. Rosehip is an ideal cleansing oil for oily skin and contains retinoids which may help reduce the appearance of acne.
- Aloe Vera and Cucumber: Infused with soothing aloe vera and cucumber extract made to cleanse and leave a radiant glow. Skin will look cleansed and refreshed.
- Coconut and Hyaluronic Acid (my personal favourite): enriched with coconut extract (for hydration and radiance) and Hyaluronic Acid made to cleanse, and leave a radiant glow.

4. Filgorio hydra-filler pro-youth boosting moisturiser:
This intensive hydrating moisturiser is ideal for thirsty skin like mine as it provides a healthy boost of hyaluronic acid to dry skin.
This French skincare brand is the ultimate thirst quencher your skin has been looking for, as its main ingredients are hyaluronic acid complex, and hydraslalinol which don’t simply moisturise, they actively boost moisture levels within the skin, boost the production of skin-firming collagen and prevent moisture loss by strengthening the skin’s epidermal barrier.
