Zoom meetings have changed the way we do business, and around the world, even court cases are being heard via live virtual meetings…
A recent court hearing became a bit of a ‘cat’-astrophe for one Texas lawyer as he accidentally switched his video feed to a cat filter. He appeared live in the virtual courtroom as an animated cat.
In the video, the unfortunate lawyer who isn’t very tech-savvy can be heard trying desperately to switch the filter back.
Eventually he calls in his assistant to help.
The Judge, Judge Roy B. Ferguson of the 394th Judicial District Court in Texas, tried to offer some assistance to the attorney, Rod Ponton.
An hilarious conversation ensues, with Ponton plaintively declaring “I’m here, live, I’m not a cat.”
The Judge – who clearly has a sense of humour – later tweeted some helpful advice to those about to embark on an important Zoom call:
IMPORTANT ZOOM TIP: If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video Options to be sure filters are off. This kitten just made a formal announcement on a case in the 394th (sound on). #lawtwitter #OhNo @zoom_ushttps://t.co/I0zaj0wu6K
