My special place has definitely got to be the Okavango……. definitely Chobe Game Reserve where the river divides Botswana and Zambia.
Last year I went on a bush trip with a few friends, travelling from Johannesburg through Botswana in 4x4s and sleeping in roof-top tents. We travelled through all the nature reserves, notably Savuti and revelled in the beauty of Africa and the absolute outdoors with its incredible wildlife and memories that I will never forget. The experience has strengthened my love for wild animals and along the way we travelled through small rural villages and were welcomed by the locals.
We went on a â??mokoro boat tripâ? just north of Maun where the waters were clear and calm and walked amongst the elephants, hippos and giraffe. We stayed at the Chobe Nature Reserve and drove through the reserve most of the time we were there. The awesome boat trips, fish eagle calls and the abundant wildlife will forever beckon me to return someday soon ….
