After over a month away from Instagram, Bonang has made a fashionable (and expensive!) return with her first post of 2021).
Instagram just doesn’t feel the same without Bonang Matheba popping up on our feeds once in a while. In more recent times, we’ve found ourselves scrolling endlessly through the ‘Gram and seeing New Years Resolutions, “new year new me” and just about every other kind of post from many of our favourite celebrities but until this week, Queen B had been notably absent from the photo sharing app. Thankfully, she made a grand return with her first post in over a month.
Bonang’s first Insta post of 2021
A month is a long time, especially if you’re waiting for something that just doesn’t seem to be coming. That was very much the case for Bonang’s 4.2 million Instagram followers who had all been eagerly awaiting a new post from their Queen B. Bonang’s fans were put on red alert when they noticed an absence of any kind of festive posts. There were no “Merry Christmas” or “Happy New Year” posts in sight and the presenter’s last post had been shared on the 14th of December!
Dozens of comments were left on her previous posts as fans started to wonder what had inspired the entertainer’s sudden hiatus from uploading new posts to her timeline – while others feared the worst. What if she wasn’t coming back at all?
Thankfully, those fears were put firmly to bed after Bonang decided to put her followers out of their collective misery when she shared her first post in over a month and if the reaction is anything to go by, it was worth the wait!
LeBonza posed in a gorgeous Louis Vuitton number and completed the combination with a matching purse and a trademark body-length weave. Judging by the avalanche of replies in the comments, it’s safe to say that Bonang was missed on the ‘Gram.

Why is Bonang posting less often?
Although we are all thrilled to see Bonang back on Instagram, the immediate fear is that this could be one of the last posts we see before another unplanned hiatus. The truth beyond this past month is that Bonang has become a scarce presence on multiple social media platforms.
Where Queen B used to post multiple times a day, she now posts once every couple of days and sometimes the gap between updates is even longer than that. Although she has spoken in recent times about a deliberate change in her posting strategy (less personal posts, more work updates), Bonang did also admit in 2020 that social media had lost its appeal to her, at least for that moment on time.
…..I don’t enjoy social media as much anymore. Hopefully it’s just a phase… ❤ https://t.co/hs5yXOgqxA

In a candid reply, after a concerned fan asked why she’s less present, she shot back by responding, “I don’t enjoy social media as much anymore. Hopefully, it’s just a phase…”
Do you think that Bonang will return to posting regularly on social media this year?
