Inspiring ‘Fitness Bunnie’ Sbahle Mpisane recently took to Instagram to reveal her amazing secret to long natural hair.
With our lives permanently on lockdown, many have taken the option to embrace their natural hair and show off their crowns.
If you have been looking for ways to take care of your hair better and guarantee length retention, our girl Sbahle has the secret.
In a post she shared on Instagram, Sbahle revealed that THIS is one of the ways she retains the length of her hair.
“As you know hydration comes from water. So washing your hair is a must!!! For me wash days are weekly to keep my hair hydrated. (thats one of my secrets to length retention),” she said.
She went on to share detailed steps on how she takes care of her hair using the proudly South African brand NativeChild.
Sbahle washes her with the NativeChild Moisturising Shampoo followed by the Deep Conditioner.
Her aftercare routine also includes NativeChild products such as the Milk & Honey Moisture Crème, Whipped Shea Butter and Castor Oil.
“Natural hair is often quite brittle, dry and more prone to shedding. So the key when thinking about hair health and growth during this stage is moisture. I have a variety of hair products from @nativechild.co which have rewarded me with great results. I apply milk & honey moisture créme or more especially the whipped sheabutter for my hair protection & elasticity.
“To seal my moisture method, I apply castor oil, which is rich in omega-9 fatty acids and vitamin E that facilitate healthy hair growth. To increase the circulation on my scalp I massage it in after apply the essential oil on my damp hair (for 15mins 3 times a week) to stimulate my hair growth,” Sbahle said.
Sbahle went on to give more advice on how to lock in moisture.
“I even go as far as wrapping my hair afterwards for 30mins for the moisture to lock into my hair over several days as my form of moisture protection.”
We will definitely be following these tips from now on!
