Invading the house music territory, Pixie Bennett has just released a new project, A Thousand Paper Birds – an album that wholeheartedly encourages a listener to let loose on the dance-floor. Released under BBB Music – label known for having introduced house duo, Liquideep, the artist delivers a project with a mix of electo touch and a bit of deep house.

One of South Africa’s top producers in the playground of electronic dance music Craig Massiv was in control of crafting and mixing the tunes on this release. The music connection that the artist and producer have had over the years helped seal a project that is undoubtedly going to get many people paying attention to Bennett’s music.

Not taking chances in what she is doing, Pixie Bennett participated in the 2009 music competition, Idols, where she managed to place herself in the top seven

Since then, the talented vocalist has been involved in many projects, including touring the world as Pixie Bennett Band.

Not afraid of challenges, the songstress has decided to try something new – and that’s releasing a house project. While her new album is a break from her signature pop rock style, house music is in fact a return to her roots.

Already, first single off the album â??City Lights’, in which the talent teamed up with DJ Whisky, has been doing rounds in the airwaves with the video receiving a credible response.

The vocalist has also created a club version of her chart climber hit, â??So Spun’, from the days of the Pixie Bennett Band. The tune has been getting some solid response from stations such as 5FM and East Coast Radio, to name but a few.

Another song off the album, â??Khula’ is a very sexy number with old school house elements.

Bennett’s immense talent is sure to take the world by storm and prove that she is one of the best vocalists in the music game and is certainly becoming a major force with which to be reckoned.
