Lykke Li, the 22-year old, Swedish indie singer with the trademark bun, has recently released the video for her third single “Breaking it Up”. Her previoust single “I’m Good, I’m Gone”, released on her own label, is available in various formats, with remixes by the likes of Black Kids.
Li’s popular EP â??Little Bitâ? was first released in Sweden on her own record label, LL Recordings. This debut single consists of breathy, pure vocals, that are reminiscent of Bjork, with lo- fi electro beats. It was later released by Moshi Moshi Records, who also pioneered Kate Nash. Atlantic now has an exclusive licence for Li and her record label. Liâ??s debut album Youth Novels has just been released.
Debut Album Youth Novels
Most of the 14 songs on the album were written by Li in two months. The songs, all about love and heartbreak, capture a relationship which she has been involved in on and off for three years. The object of her affection is in a different place from Li in his life, and the songs reflect her lonely yearnings.
Lykke Li will be touring the UK from the end of September.
