Senzo Meyiwa’s family has taken big steps towards finding his killers by hiring one of South Africa’s top lawyers in a bid to finally get justice for the still unsolved murder. 

It looks as if Senzo Meyiwa’s  surviving family members are still determined to find his killers and see justice served, no matter what it takes. October 2020 marked six years since the slain Bafana Bafana goalkeeper lost his life and we are still no closer to discovering who pulled the trigger on that fateful night in 2014. In a bid to try and find a conclusive answer that will bring the family closure, the Meyiwa family has hired Advocate Malesela Teffo to help them solve the case.

Meyiwa family recruits big shot lawyer

It has been a difficult six years for the Meyiwa family. Not only did they have to live with the pain of losing their son, Senzo, who was brutally murdered in the home of Kelly Khumalo’s mother in Voslorus in 2014. But they have had to live with the frustration of knowing that his killers are still at large, despite numerous promises made by local officials that the crime would be solved. 

Now, at the beginning of what will be the seventh year since he died, the Meyiwa family has roped in the services of Advocate Teffo to try and bring thise case to a close once and for all. Speaking to Daily Sun, the legal eagle confirmed that he had taken on the Meyiwa case after being approached by Senzo’s brother, Sfiso. 

 

Sfiso Meyiwa: We want answers!

Sfiso’s brother was said to be driving the renewed efforts to find justice. In October 2020, Bheki Cele held a press conference to announced that the South African police had made five arrests in connection with Senzo Meyiwa’s murder. The advocate revealed that Sfiso Meyiwa does not believe any of these suspects killed his brother. 

He added, “A lot of things are questionable in this matter and Sfiso is confident the people who were recently arrested in his brother’s case are not the suspects. “He told me he knows his brother’s killer, and people that should be questioned were the ones in the Vosloorus house on that fateful night,”
