2017’s Miss South Africa Ade van Heerden is officially off the market after she accepted a marriage proposal from her long-time partner.

2021 hasn’t been a good year for celebrity romance so far. News of break ups, divorces and untimely splits has done little to lift up the spirits – especially during the height of the pandemic. Thankfully, this week we found something with cheering about after ex-Miss South Africa Ade van Heerden announced that she was engaged after saying “Yes” to a magical wedding proposal!

Ade says yes!

Although February is usually the month of love, Dr Ade Van Heerden kicked off her January on an ultra-romantic note after her longterm boyfriend, Alex Forsyth-Thompson bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him. According to the 2017 Miss South Africa winner, saying “yes” was the easiest decision of her life.

The lovestruck medical doctor took to Instagram to celebrate the big milestone where she wrote, “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. –Proverbs 31:10-12⁣

“The easiest yes of my life! Trusting God with the details of our relationship lead us to this moment! And now, I get to marry my best friend”

The lovers took their romance to the next level at the Emily Moon River Lodge in Plettenburg Bay where Ade showed off her gorgeous new diamond ring in a series of photo shoots:

An exciting year ahead for Ade van Heerden

It looks as if 2021 has begun on an exciting note for the pageant winner and health activist. Along with saying “yes” to the man of her dreams, Ade van Heerden has also announced an exciting new health initiative which is set to change the lives of women in South Africa for the better – a project named Coco.

She shared more information about the project when she wrote, “Coco is a feminine hygiene subscription service that offers women access to organic and biodegradable pads, tampons and panty liners. ⁣

All women – young and older – play a very important role in society, that’s why we enable the CoCo community to uplift the girl-child. For every month you subscribe to @mycoco_za we donate to a girl in need on your behalf.”

She’s well on her way to her “happily ever after” and she’s making an impact in women’s lives while she’s at it. Is there anybody who is enjoying a more joyous and fulfilling start to the year than Ade van Heerden?
