Great news if you’re into Halloween is that Picnics in the Park will be hosting The Haunted Forest 2020 Zombieland at the venue this weekend. There’ll be lots of “scary” activities to delight the whole family. There’s two sessions suited to kids age 2-12 on Saturday, which includes trick-or-treat, a movie and games, but you’ll need to book tickets for this event directly through Computicket..

But even if you don’t manage to get tickets for the event, which is limited owing to lockdown restrictions, don’t worry. There’s a brillianteducational play area called Playscapes where kids between the ages of 3-12 can enjoy themselves while you relax nearby. It’s been designed to develop their cognitive and motor skills and features a water slide, a paddling creek, lots of climbing equipment, a scooter park as well as an animal farmyard.

Besides the spacious Playscapes area where they can burn off all their energy, there’s also the opportunity for them to do some obstacle courses and ziplining through the pine trees on the farm with TreeTop Adventures. There’s a variety of fun packages to suit every age group, including the Woodpeckers course for kids aged 3-6.

Where is it located?

Rose Road, Knopjeslaagte, Midrand

Opening times

Fridays 1pm to sunset; Saturdays and Sundays 8:30am to sunset

Entrance to the farm is free, but entry to the Playscape area costs R50 per child for unlimited play. The TreeTop obstacles courses and zipline adventures range in price from R150. Tickets for The Haunted Forest 2020 Zombieland event costs R400 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 12.
