Khutso shared the importance of staying active and what drives her to keep fit and in shape.
“Staying in shape, fit and healthy has been hard with the COVID lockdown limitations, but setting daily and weekly goals has truly helped,” she said.
She is lucky enough to have a partner who gets active with her and uses creative and easy ways to stay in shape.
“Having a partner who has assisted me by also trying to stay in shape has helped in so many ways. Without being able to go to the gym, I’ve used in-house materials as equipment, and have been running and playing tennis,” said Khutso.
Her mantra is “healthy women, healthy world” and we have to agree. She gave some simple ways that can help women keep a healthy lifestyle.
“We ladies face so many barriers that limit us in our pursuit of a healthy and active lifestyle. Be it lack of time, lack of motivation, parenting demands, lack of energy, health problems, lack of money or even gender stereotyping, body image and perception of safety.
You have to nourish in order to flourish
“It’s important that we remind ourselves that this is not a race. Do what you can today. You will get to where you are going. You have to nourish in order to flourish,” she shared.
Khutso also revealed tips on how to start a life-changing fitness journey that you will enjoy.
“Find a way to enjoy exercise! If you are one who dreads every minute of your approaching workout, and hates it even more once you’re there, it’s time to find a different approach to exercise. More often than not, fit people find a way to actually enjoy and even look forward to their workouts,“ she said.
We are all different, which is why Khutso says it is very important to go for workouts that you like.
“Find something you like, whether it’s sports, boot camp, CrossFit or something else entirely – start looking forward to a particular workout, train your body to crave healthy food and remember that, when all is said and done, your health is an investment, not an expense.”
