Michael Mayorga from Miami, Florida just took proposal plans to new levels… And he didn’t even have to get out of bed to do it!
After spending weeks trying to plan the perfect proposal – and keep it secret from his girlfriend – Michael woke up very early on Wednesday morning with the perfect plan. “She knows all my moves,” he posted on Facebook. This made it very tough for him to surprise her!
But on Wednesday morning he slipped the gorgeous engagement ring onto the finger of his sleeping future fiancée, Jamilah Williams!
“You are one very hard woman to surprise,” he wrote. “But the jokes on you because now you’re going to wake up with 3 surprises… a phone full of congratulations notifications and text, an engagement ring on your finger and a picture of you sleeping that you don’t want all over the internet!”
He took a chance with that last one!
She said YES!
Jamilah was obviously thrilled with her love’s alternative proposal, and the massive surprise she woke up to.
She posted her answer on Facebook on Wednesday, and thanked friends and family for their love and support. “Thank you to everyone for your love and support we are overwhelmed and words can’t express how truly blessed we are. This is only the beginning to the lifetime of blessings straight from God.”
The couple have been through a lot to get to where they are now
Michael shared his heart-breaking history, and how he had overcome depression thanks to the help of his new fiancée.
He shared that he left a long term relationship in 2015 after he was cheated on. Just a year later his mom passed away. In 2017 he says he ‘fell in love again’ but his girlfriend passed away just two years later from stage 4 breast cancer.
“In late 2019 and early 2020 I was consumed with heavy depression, during that depression I met Jamilah who constantly checked on me and prayed for me every single day. She genuinely cared about me spiritually, healed my mental state, and kept my faith alive.”
He says he found love again in mid 2020, “couple months later I put a ring on it”.
We wish the couple all the happiness in the world! Congratulations!
