Enhle Mbali was dealt a blow in court after the judge ruled against her spousal and child maintenance requests from estranged husband Black Coffee.
For the past few months, Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali have been trying to find middle ground during their drawn out separation but there has been one big sticking point: the exact amount of money that the superstar DJ would be required to pay for both his ex-wife and their children to continue living a life of the same standard.
Reports earlier this year suggested that Mbali had demanded upwards of R100,000 a month but this week the presiding judge at the Johannesburg High Court did not agree to that request.
A painful divorce
It has not been an easy separation for Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali who called an end to their four-year marriage at the beginning of 2020. Leaving a long-time partner is never easy, but when there are children and finances involved, it can be a truly daunting experience. The estranged lovers took their divorce to the courts and by the end of November, a verdict had finally been reached.
One of the key areas of contention was the amount of money that Black Coffee would be mandated to pay in order to cover all of Mbali and their children’s expenses.
Back in August, much was said about the extraordinary amount which the Isibaya star was demanding from her husband: a staggering R131,000 per month. This would cover enough of her personal expenses, including beauty and medical costs, as well as all of their children’s expenses.

However, the judge at the Johannesburg High Court dismissed her application, claiming that the fees requested were exorbitant.
Instead, Black Coffee will be ordered to pay R15,000 in spousal maintenance and R50,000 in child support.
What next for Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali?
Black Coffee and Enhle’s divorce has been well-publicised over the months, despite their numerous requests for privacy from the media and indeed those on social media. It appears as if court proceedings are in their final stretch and once their separation has been officialised, one wonders what the future holds for them as individuals.
Other than stories about their divorce, not much else has been reported of Enhle’s life outside work and there has been no suggestion of whether or not she has considered moving on yet.
Meanwhile, Black Coffee has been linked to a number of personalities including Love Island season four star, Alexandra Cane from the UK and South Africa mega influencer Sarah Langa.
