Attention, students and party people! If you’re looking for a new bar-come-restaurant with incredible deals, then look no further.

A new hotspot on the Cape Town restaurant scene, Two4One Kitchen & Bar is located in the throbbing centre of Observatory. It’s been open for one month and is officially the “Groupon” of restaurants. Yup, you heard me.

All meals are available all day, every day at two for the price of one. Was that a typo? No, my friend, that’s no typo!

I took my mom with me for the experience and was pleased to see a variety of patrons – young and old – enjoying the Two4One bar vibe with restaurant-quality food.

Pumping music, two bars and quirky décor make Two4One a fun spot for a night out with mates.

You’ll only find bar stools and high tables at this spot, which helps to create a “night out” feel even if you’re only popping in for a quick meal.

If you do find yourself at Two4One on a night out and the music gets a bit too loud for conversation, however, they’ve cleverly created an unusual separate lounge you can escape to for a dose of deep and meaningful. While you can still hear the main area’s music, you can hear each other much more clearly. Now introverts, conversationalists and noise-sensitive patrons can have as much fun as their party-loving buddies!

Great menu of drinks & food

Alongside a variety of cocktails, local beers and spirits, the food menu is short, uncomplicated and caters to all tastes: good news when you’ve survived another one-million-decision day at varsity or the office. Juicy burgers, crispy pizzas and cheesy chilli-poppers are some of the menu highlights.

We tried the margarita and the mojito paired with nachos to share for our starter. Delish.

We then moved on to The All-Rounder pizza (super thin, crispy base with bacon, avo and feta – I asked for extra pineapple and caramelised onions… okay, sue me!?) and the Gordon Hamsey Beef Burger with no bun for Mom. It was pretty tasty bar fare!

For dessert our lovely waitress, Gugu, firmly steered us towards the Bitter-sweet Chocolate Brownie with homemade ice cream.

Two4One is owned by the owner of legendary pool bar, Stones, which is just upstairs from the entrance

(Stones regulars have already been known to order takeaway meals from Two4One and have them sent upstairs.) Sidewalk seating gives smokers and ‘people watchers’ an opportunity to get the true sense of the bohemian Obs suburb.

The quirkiest thing about this new spot is the double entrance and separate-yet-together architecture. The two spaces each have their own bar but share a kitchen. One side has guitars all over the wall, while the other side is covered in mirrors!

So, to sum up, if you’re looking for a relaxed, vibey night out with decent food, friendly staff and outrageous deals, then Two4One is right up your alley.
