Pascal is the Head of Food at Nando’s IMEA and has been heading up the food and beverage strategies and innovation for the iconic brand for the past 6 years
We met up with Pascal to talk career moves, what it takes to build a career like hers and what it’s like to be the brain behind flavours like Nando’s Mozam Paprika flavour.
What does the Head of food do?
Although being a foodie is one of the demands of Pascal’s job, there’s more to it than just a love for good food. Being the Head of Food involves a lot of research, analysis, forward-thinking and diplomacy.
While the purpose of a business is to make money, one of Pascal’s duties is to convince Nando’s to innovate, change a formula they already know to work to introduce something new or put a new spin on an old favourite.
Have you tried Nando’s latest innovation?
We recently had a taste of Nando’s spring/summer menu and fell completely in love with their new Frosted drinks. The icy drinks are the perfect summer drink and complement the relatively new Perinaise, caramelized onion and avocado burgers, pitas and wraps also available in a vegetarian option.
