Reflecting on PCOS Awareness month, 3Sixty Biomedicine’s CEO, Walter Mbatha, thanked South Africans for their participation and support of #BreakTheSilence…

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a disorder affecting millions of women. 3Sixty Biomedicine has committed to continuing the discussion around the condition, and creating awareness about treatments with the help and knowledge of health experts like Dr Sindi van Zyl and Tendai Bbosa going forward.

It is estimated that 8–13% of women are affected by PCOS. Many of them may not know enough about the disorder to recognise the symptoms or seek medical help. This prevents them from receiving a diagnosis and securing the help they so desperately need.

This is where the #BreakTheSilence campaign comes in

What started during SA Women’s Month as a way to increase the conversation and education around women’s health issues, has now grown into a powerful movement. Key female role players are giving other women the courage to not be ashamed of conditions affecting their personal health.
