Following the viral video of businessman Donovan Tooth insulting overweight women, a Facebook group has been established, calling for the demise of Tooth and his clothing label, Panda Clothing…

Tooth’s Linked-in profile described him as the owner of Panda Clothing and on the CIPC website, he is noted as the director of the company. The profile on the networking app has since been deleted amidst the social media backlash.

In the video, Tooth lashes out at big women. “These overweight, chubby f****n women are getting posted up and they are being told curves are beautiful and curves are strong,” said Tooth.

He added that this was the case more for women than men.

Tooth then posted a photo of plus size model Nelly London.

“She’s got f****n 10 kilos to lose. Like b***h, get on a f****n treadmill and lose the fat,” he continued.

The video is punctuated by a string of expletives.

As the video gained traction on social media, a Facebook page called Donovan Tooth (Panda Clothing) Must Fall was formed.

Just a day later, the group has more than 2 600 members and many of them are fuming.

According to the group’s descriptive information: “Donovan Tooth has crossed the line. His video was absolutely disgusting and pure DISCRIMINATION against women.”

In a much shorter video, Tooth apologised. He said that his earlier video was “uncalled for.”

“It was completely, completely wrong and I should have never said those things that I did.”

He acknowledged that he’s “hurt and affected many, many people.”

Panda Clothing took to Instagram to issue its apology.

“PANDA Clothing and it’s shareholders disassociates itself from the derogatory post which was an attack on the female form. It is unacceptable, shameful and has no place in Panda’s value system.”

This doesn’t seem to have appeased members of the Donovan Tooth (Panda Clothing) Must Fall Facebook group who continue to call for a boycott of the clothing label.
