She may be Miss Universe, but for Zozibini Tunzi, she’s still a village girl from the small town of Sidwadweni, Eastern Cape

In a pic showing her cooking outdoors, the natural-haired beauty revealed that she had returned home for a quick visit.

Zozi was also completely dressed down from what we’re accustomed to seeing her. Instead of a designer dress, heels and a made-up face, the humble star was kitted out in a doek, an apron and socks and sandals!

“Even if for a very short while, being home will always be restoration of the soul. After so long we are now currently navigating on tears of joy, love, warmth, support and song,” she captioned the pic.

The reason for Zozi’s stop over is unknown, although her missing home must surely play a part

Speaking during a Newsroom Afrika interview, Zozi revealed that she had been particularly hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, which had left her feeling lonely and isolated in New York.

She said: “I miss people and I’m such a hugger and I love touching people, which is something I can’t do now… but I’m coping….

“I struggled just like everyone else but I tried to deal with what’s happened.”

Let’s hope she stores up on all the hugs and love while she’s here in Mzansi!
