Kobus, who is a former rugby player for the Golden Lions, and Bridget met for the first time seven years ago, the 31-year-old lifestyle manager tells Channel24

“From the first moment I met Kobus, there was definitely something special, but back then we were just at different stages of our lives. I believe it’s all about timing and we picked up where we left off all those years ago,” she elaborates further.

What Bridget first noticed about Kobus was his energy and his eyes. “They just draw you in,” she says.

According to Bridget, dating during lockdown has “not been easy.” She says: “You learn to make it work. If something is meant to be with someone – there is no obstacle that will keep you apart.”

“We have been overwhelmed with positivity and love which is just so incredible,” she adds when asked about the response from her friends and family.

Although Bridget failed to form a lasting romantic connection on The Bachelor SA she says that she has no regrets about appearing on the reality TV dating show

“In life, we are constantly learning and growing and, I believe I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t gone through that experience.”

Bridget says that the experience on The Bachelor SA made her “stronger emotionally” and she came to realise her worth and what she wanted in a relationship.

In three words, Bridget describes the blossoming romance as: healthy, real, passionate. And about their future, Bridget says we’ll just have to wait and see!
