The Single Wives SA premiered on M-Net on Thursday night and is based on an Australian format.

Led by experts Justin Cohen, a transformational coach, and media personality, Mapaseka Mokwele, six women embark on a journey they hope will lead them to true love.

The women were previously married and are now divorced and are looking for lasting companionship. This explains the name, but the use of “wives” remains confusing for many people on social media.

Not everyone is confused. Many viewers enjoyed the first episode and applauded the contestants for leaving abusive relationships.

And then, there are some who are simply not sold on M-Net’s new content.
