It has become a global music phenomenon and by the looks of it, Master KG’s hit song Jerusalema is continuing to take over the world by storm
The smash hit song has unofficially been an anthem for 2020 and has seen major success on the charts, as well as inspiring countless dance challenges on social media and clocking well over 100 million views on YouTube.
Even award-winning singer Burna Boy has lent his vocals to the remix, in which he skillfully sings in isiZulu.
And it’s not just South African music lovers who are fans of the viral song – featuring Nomcebo Zikode on the vocals – it has reached all four corners of the earth.

Meanwhile a debate ensued on Twitter over which song between Jerusalema and Mgarimbe’s Sister Bettina was the biggest track in the country.
Sadly for Master KG, the latter won the argument hands down….

Perhaps we can formally adopt both songs as our unofficial national anthems?
