Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of the North-West and western parts of Free State…

Gale to strong gale force easterly to north-easterly winds (65-90 km/h) are expected along the coast between Table Bay and Port St Johns, including the adjacent interior from the afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms are expected over the eastern parts of Northern Cape, western parts of the North-West, western parts of the Free State and northern interior of the Eastern Cape.

Special Weather Advisories:

A cut off low is expected to affect the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces on Tuesday and Wednesday. The public and small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions and very rough seas can be expected.

1. Gauteng:

Partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated afternoon thundershowers

The expected UVB sunburn Index: Moderate

2. Mpumalanga:

Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cold but very cold on the highveld with isolated afternoon thundershowers.

Scattered rain and showers are expected in the east.

3. Limpopo:

Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain, except in the northwest.

4. North-West Province:

Partly cloudy and cool with isolated afternoon thundershowers, becoming scattered in the west from the evening.

5. Free State:

Cold in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated afternoon thundershowers, becoming scattered in the evening.

6. Northern Cape:

Fine and cold to cool, but warm in the north. It will become partly cloudy with isolated afternoon thundershowers, except in the west.

Scattered thundershowers are expected in the extreme east.

The wind along the coast will be fresh southerly to south-easterly.

7. Western Cape:

Fine and cool in the morning, becoming partly cloudy during the afternoon with isolated evening showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly,  becoming gale force along the south and south-west coasts from afternoon.

8. Western Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Partly cloudy and cool, becoming cloudy in the late afternoon with evening scattered showers and thundershowers moving in from the north.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong westerly, becoming gale force in the afternoon.

9. Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Cloudy at times and cold with isolated afternoon and evening thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly, becoming strong to gale force west of East London in the afternoon.

10. Kwazulu-Natal:

Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool but cold in places in the west. Isolated showers and rain are expected at times.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly north of Richards Bay, otherwise easterly to north-easterly.
