The South African Weather Service has warned that a well-developed cold front is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape provinces from late Friday evening to Sunday…

Gale to strong Gale force W to NW winds of 62 to 74km/h are expected between Cape Agulhas and East London.

High seas with wave heights between 6.0 and 7.0m are expected from Cape Columbine, spreading to Port Edward by the afternoon.

The public and/or small stock farmers are advised that snow, very cold conditions, Gale Force winds and rough seas and significant rainfall can be expected.

2. Mpumalanga:

Morning fog patches on the escarpment, otherwise fine and cool to warm but hot in the Lowveld.

3. Limpopo:

Fine and warm but hot in the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.

4. North-West Province:

Fine and cool but warm in the north-east.

5. Free State:

Fine and cool but cold in the south and south-east.

6. Northern Cape:

Cloudy at first in the west with morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise fine and cool but cold in the south where it will be partly cloudy.

The wind along the coast will be strong southerly to south-easterly.

7. Western Cape:

Cloudy at first in the south with morning rain-showers, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool.

The wind along the coast will be gale force south-westerly east of Cape Agulhas in the morning, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly, moderating in the late afternoon.

8. Western Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Cloudy and cold to cool with light morning rain in places in the south but scattered along the coast. It will become fine in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be strong south-westerly, reaching gale force in places in the morning, moderating in the evening.

9. Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Cool along the coast, otherwise fine and cold but partly cloudy in places in the southwest at first.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, but strong in the south, where it will reach gale force in the morning.

10. Kwazulu-Natal:

Fine and cool but warm in some places in the north. It will become partly cloudy along the coast and its adjacent interior in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be light westerly to north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.
